Film Challenge
The Women of Color Filmmakers Summer Film Challenge is the culmination of the 2022 WOCF Filmmaker Lab. This year there are 11 filmmakers who’ve taken part in six months of extensive workshops with Hollywood professionals in screenwriting, director prep and pre-production, directing actors, creating a meaningful visual style, editing, composing a score, fundraising and distribution. Each filmmaker has an industry mentor throughout production and will complete the lab with a fully produced short film to be screened at the Summer Film Challenge.
This event will include food and craft vendors from local business, panel discussions with industry professionals.

Why We Need Your Support
WOCF is currently 100% volunteer led and the Film Lab is completely free of cost to all participants. In order to host an event of this scale, we need to raise $10,000.00 to match our existing donations and support from our Board of Directors and leadership team.

The WOCF Film Lab Participants have worked diligently to make their films dynamic. By making a donation, you are helping us celebrate these Women of Color Filmmakers and investing in an opportunity to have their work screened in front of a significant audience.
Last year’s event was virtual and still proved to be a launching pad for many of our filmmakers who’ve gone on to screen and win awards at festivals around the nation and world as well as gain employment with their new skillset. Our hope is that with a live event in Los Angeles, they will also be able to build and nurture relationships that will help them as they grow.
There are 11 filmmakers participating in WOCF Film Lab. These filmmakers have 6 months to take their short film concepts based on the word "Infinite" from development, pre-production, production and post-production.
