About the Event
For most indie filmmakers branding and marking your film is usually last on the “Things To Do List. We get so excited about the filmmaking process we forget to create a plan to market it. How are we going to get people interested in our film even when we are in the pre-production phase or before we start shooting? What elements can we put into our film to make it stand out from other indie films that are similar? Keena Ferguson has become a master at getting her film projects out into the fray. Always wanting to tell stories that mattered to her and allowed her to be seen in a variety of roles she began creating content. Her first short film, Kai, won numerous awards, played in more than 30 film festivals and received TV distribution. Her first feature film led to a three picture distribution deal, she won a NAACP award for her one woman show Keena UnBranded that she also wrote, produced and starred in and her film Lindon Passing was HBO nominated. Through her company, Now, Go Get it Done, she helps writers and creatives develop their content in all stages from pre to post. She understands that there is no one size fits all when it comes to creating content and that each project, each storyteller and each goal is different. Helping other creatives be inspired and get their projects done and out into the world is what she strives to do for each artist. A graduate of The Ohio State University where she received her B.F.A in dance, she moved to Los Angeles less than a week after graduation to begin her career. Her love of all things creative (dancer/choreographer, actress, VO artist, writer, producer, director) has led her to fully accept all of her many talents and Keena now calls herself a multi-artist. Keena is starring in Tyler Perry’s new TV show Sistas on BET and recurring on the CW’s All American. She has also had roles on the hot Golden Globe and Emmy winning show Atlanta, S.W.A.T on CBS opposite Shemar Moore, recurring on Amazon’s Gortimer Gibbons Life of on Normal Street and many movies on Netflix such as RedLine, American Hero and more. She also is the voice of many popular video games like Fortnite, Spiderman, Star Wars, World War Z and more and can be heard at Disneyworld and other theme parks for the brand new Pandora World of Avatar and Star Wars Land.
